MediaMall Technologies Press Release
FOR IMMEDIATE RELEASE
Boston - March 26, 2010 – PlayOnTM Announces Timely Support for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report.
MediaMall Technologies, the developers of PlayOn, announced the launch of beta support for The Daily Show with Jon Stewart and The Colbert Report. This release comes in the wake of the recent removal of the two shows, along with other Comedy Central offerings, from Hulu.
This move represents the third content addition to PlayOn in less than a week. Just last week MediaMall announced and launched an NCAA® March Madness on Demand® channel and an MLB.tv channel. “We are reaching a new place in the company’s evolution,” states MediaMall’s Chief Executive, Jeff Lawrence. “We feel like the platform is very stable and mature now, so we can begin to turn our efforts toward expanding our entertainment offering.”
“This release illustrates how quickly we can now get things to market when circumstances call for it. We felt like the removal of Comedy Central from Hulu was a real loss, and one we needed to rapidly address for our customers,” continues Lawrence. “The Daily Show was the second most watched show on Hulu. We did not want our users to have to go without. Our customers have been very supportive of PlayOn, so we worked around the clock to put their favorite shows back on their TV screens.”
